Overview

Jessica Yarmey, CEO of KickHouse is the business website for an entrepreneur and CEO. Built using WordPress, this is a simple informational site with a theme that was custom-built to Jessica’s specifications.

The biggest challenge while developing this website was the need to integrate various social media platforms. Perhaps understandably (because they want you to visit their own networks!), social media sites have been making it more difficult to pull content onto external websites. Jessica wanted to display content from her LinkedIn profile, Medium articles, Twitter feed, and Instagram feed.

After doing some research and learning how frequently these networks modify their APIs, I thought it would be better to use a service that provides access to the feeds (and, I hoped, would be able to make quick changes to their code when necessary to address changes in the APIs). The only service I could find that provides access to LinkedIn and Medium content is called SociableKit. A trial of SociableKit showed that it would do eveything Jessica wanted, and I found that their customer support was also very responsive and helpful. So we are currently using SociableKit to bring Jessica’s social media feeds onto her website.
